" COLORS of AUTUMN"  is the theme for Art Challenge 18  which runs from September 1 - September 30.

Let us see your paintings of anything about the glorious colors of Autumn. We welcome other mediums as well: assemblages,  collage, ceramics, needle art, fine art photographs, assemblages, poetry.

Do send in a photo of your art or  fine crafts.   We will post one old work or several new works created between March 2020  and  the end of September  2021  because we are challenging you to be creative now that we are trying to return to normal. Many people voted to keep the Art Challenges going because these on-line exhibits of art works are easier to view that our exhibits in Cribari Conference Room which is often locked,  and also so many more people can participate.  Our October Annual Juried Show is cancelled, so please use this on line exhibit to show us.....and your family and friends from far away.....your latest creative work!

Please use our in-place rules and submit nothing religious, political, nude or anything that may offend others.  The more uplifting, the better.  No family or pet photos, please.

Send the photo of your art work or craft to  our  Webmaster  at barb.gottesman@gmail.com

ALL VILLAGERS  are welcome to submit photos of their art or fine crafts  to these  ART CHALLENGE  on-line EXHIBITS.

COLORS OF VAN GOGH

I cook, I sing, or I can sew

But most of all I paint Van Gogh

I love to paint his starry night

Or Irises all blue and light

An unmade bed, or waving wheat

A yellow house, a chair his seat

When feeling low he cut his ear

But overall to me most dear

A group of golden sunflowers in a jar

Is still my favorite by far.

BUTTERFLY WING

How dare I even try?

To paint the wing of a butterfly.

The color is thousands of scales reflecting light.

Black lines of intricate design,

Antennae, body…so it goes.

Simple you say, why not?

Metamorphosis from a caterpillar and cocoon

To this beauty.

And it can fly.

Flitting through a summer afternoon.

The mind of the Creator reflected in this bit of color

How dare I even try?
