Arts and Crafts Demo and Membership meeting with Thong Le
If you have not seen Thong Le before then you should attend our first Demo of the year on February 2nd at 1: 45 pm in the Cribari Conference room. This will be his second visit with us. His last time here was pre COVID and many of you were not living here then. Thong has a huge personality, and he is very quick with his brush and his wit. Oils will be his medium.
His study in arts began when he was teen in Vietnam. Understandably, those early days pursuing art were of course stymied and limited due to all the trials and tribulations that Viet Nam was going through. When Thong was finally able to get to the USA, he got into a program which afforded him to be able to work for Sheet Metal Workers local 104 so he could live and support his family. Sometime later, a cancer diagnosis struck and freed him to again pursue his life's passion in the Arts. He focuses on everyday objects, people, and he tries to create novel approaches to art from things that are common in real life. Thong's art has garnered several awards from group arts from San Jose to Los Gatos and San Francisco. Now, he is an art teacher at the Seniors center in Milpitas, and he still creates his beautiful work at home and displays it there for all to see.
Attend and bring one of your own works to place at the rear of the room. Attendees can see what you are creating and chat with you about it. See you promptly at 1:45 pm on February 2nd.
