Artist and high school art teacher Jenna Hobbs will lead you through the basics and the benefits of gouache paint. Learn to consolidate details and articulate light and form with this fast and versatile medium.

Jenna would like the participants to have their own photo references, though she will use her own photo reference for the painting demo (which they can optionally follow along with or just watch). The agenda is below:

- quick presentation on gouache and painters she admires

- basics of the medium: exploration time, creating opaque layers, value scale with white and with water, paint a cube

- guided painting demonstration

- painting time (participants use their own reference material)
