FREE Open Studio:  Drawing Your Pet

You are invited to come and draw your pet's portrait at our FREE “Open Studio with a Focus.”  It is on Fridays, with Greg Cheung and Rod Tieman.  The first session is set for Friday, October 24, 2 - 5 pm in the Cribari Center Art Room where the focus will be “Drawing Pet Portraits.”  All Villagers and their friends and neighbors are welcome to join us for fun and experiments.

All you need to bring are some photos of your pet to work from.  You can use your own drawing pad and pencil or use materials from the Art Room.  Greg will help you achieve your goal and he may encourage you to use some of our colored pencils or charcoal or pastel sticks. Even if you can't “draw a straight line,”  Greg will show you how to use curved and crooked lines.

This event is dedicated to having an enjoyable time while drawing images inspired from pictures of your pet.  No matter how serious, goofy, playful, regal or however you envision your pet, join other Villagers in rendering personalities on paper. No experience needed.  Each Friday afternoon, Greg will continue with Pet Portraits or other drawing still life set ups.

Greg's agenda:

1. Still life set up each session

2. Work on mandalas each session

3. Drawing dogs and cats

     a. Week 1:  Eyes

     b. Week 2:  Nose

     c. Week 3:   Mouth/teeth.
