Elena Mukhina - Free Art Demo
on March 2, at 1:45 PM
At 1:45 sharp, on Monday, March 2, 2026, we bring a local artist with a talent we must all see. Mid-2025 Elena gave a demonstration at an East Valley Artists meeting. We were engaged and able to participate in the technique of Leather Art. Elena supplied us with an idea, base, product, and tools to create. Attendees were at a manageable number. Her art looks like a painting as you can see from photos on her website. It is all leather, even though she does paint and use other genres. This demo will concentrate on leather, but since our attendees are usually 3 times as many as EVA had, we will have to be happy observing unless Elena plans to have a workshop here at some time. Below is a bit about Elena Mukhina.
"For the past 10 years, I have had the opportunity to create art for myself. Gouache, acrylic, ink, paper, and canvas help me to express my feelings of what I have seen, read, and heard. Books, movies, and songs contain a chain of events, acquaintances, and amazing interconnections that make me empathize both emotionally and physically. Over time, emotions about experiences fade, so it's important to start the creative process in time. In the works presented, the viewer will get to know my first and most vivid impressions. I have been experimenting with different forms of 2D and 3D art mediums. During this time I developed a technique to decorate wine bottles and framed cards while trying to discover my own style. I have a particular interest in the way that different textures and materials can be used to create depth and movement in my work. I have been using leather to create collages, which allows me to play with light and shadow in a unique way."

If you missed Thong Le's demo on February 2, here are some of his art works.
